Field Trip: Lower Klamath NWR

  • Klamath Basin Audubon Society P O Box 354 Klamath Falls OR United States (map)

Swans, Eagles, and Waterfowl

Spend most of this day admiring the size and beauty of Tundra Swans, and possibly Trumpeter Swans too! Bald Eagles will be around if their favorite food is nearby, the American Coot! And if there is water, then there will be waterfowl! Scopes will help viewing along the auto tour route. Eurasian Wigeon and Cackling Goose could be seen with some diligent and fortunate scoping. And don’t overlook the small birds. Among Horned Larks at that time of year, Lapland Longspurs can be mixed with them.

Pack a lunch, or snacks, water, warm layers of clothes, sunscreen, and binoculars. Carpooling will be encouraged. To register for this trip, or for questions, contact Kevin Spencer: rriparia@charter.net
