KBAS Program Meeting: Bringing the Salmon Home

  • WaFd Community Meeting Room 5215 South 6th Street Klamath Falls, OR, 97603 United States (map)

It is the largest dam removal and river restoration project in history, and it is happening in our backyard!

We are pleased to host a short film and inspirational talk about the Klamath River Renewal Project underway in southern Oregon and northern California.  Screened as one of eight finalists out of 118 submissions at the Society for Ecological Restoration Film Festival in Denver, the 17-minute short film titled “Bringing the Salmon Home” tells the story of this epic project.  The film was directed and produced by Swiftwater Films in Partnership with RES, and weaves together years of footage to share a powerful story of collaboration, resilience, and hope.

The film screening will be followed by a conversation with Dave Meurer, Director of Community Affairs with RES, the firm leading the restoration of the project area following removal of four dams on the Klamath River.  We hope you can join us for this informative and free event.
